I have a senior 40lb Cattle Dog who has terrible arthritis and can’t walk very far anymore. It had become a challenge for both me and her more active doggie “brother” since she loves being outdoors but just can’t handle long walks. I felt like I have having to compromise just taking her out to potty, and putting her back inside so he brother could get his daily 3 mile walk. I had researched strollers but didn’t love the idea of her being completely enclosed (she can’t see very well either and I was afraid the mesh would be too difficult for her to see through. (Also, most of the strollers were meant for dogs to sit in, and she can’t sit upright for long. I couldn’t find any that she could still see out of if she were laying down). I stumbled across this Pet Gear EXPEDITION ( different than the Excursion, FYI. There is link on the Pet Gear website which explains the difference between the 2 -of which there are only a couple differences).First, as you can see from the pics, the mesh front panel is huge so the dog can see outside whether sitting or laying down. Also (and the best part, IMHO) the top folds up for easy loading BUT you can leave it up while walking so your dog is pretty much enjoying a 100% open air walk. I got so teary eyed when I saw how happy my little fluff was as we strolled down the street in the sunshine! In addition, there is also a rear loading option, and also (which is not included in the picture of the handlebar for some reason) is a dual cup holder and a little box that snaps closed so you could put your keys, phone or wallet in there. A nice touch, I think!Zuki is 40lbs and as you can see the stroller is much bigger than needed but I wanted her to have lots of space so I ordered the largest size. It is very rugged! The stroller wheels are very strong and we have no issues navigating Boston’s narrow, uneven, cobblestone streets or any dirt trails we take. The color “fog” is a very neural, but pleasant, light gray.I know I have rambled but I honestly am so grateful for this stroller! Anyone with a dog that has challenges walking will absolutely find value in this and the price, while more expensive than others, is worth it. So many great features that help enhance your dog’s quality of life!

I purchased this for my senior Aussie and sadly she passed away right after it arrived. I had selected this model based on features useful for a senior dog with arthritis. These features include a low profile allowing my dog to step onto the stroller platform without my lifting her. As she was unable to turn easily, there is a rear entry door she could step into and face forward. The top front lifts to allow her to step out of the stroller or to be easily lifted out. There are four wheels allowing for easy steering and turning as well as a stable platform allowing her to feel secure. There is an easy to use foot brake at the rear as well as individual wheel locks. The frame is well built and very sturdy yet light enough at 26 lbs for me to carry. The wheels are easy to put on and take off for storage and transport. The stroller even has a removeable cup holder with a storage compartment. There are ample mesh windows for ventilation and a zip-open window on the top.The only design change I would make is because my senior dog would need to lie down, unable to sit or stand for long, being the bossy Aussie she was, I think she would have needed a zip-open window in the front to see out while being pushed around but this was something I could have added. The extra large was the perfect size for my female aussie but would be a tight fit for larger dogs.As we didn’t use this, I was able to quickly and easily return this within the 30 day window, kudos to Amazon, and should my younger dog need a stroller, I will definitely buy a Pet Gear stroller again.

Love this pet trolley
This is the second morning we have used this for our 37 pound 13 yr old Shar Pei. I must agree with other reviews, a 100 pound animal will not fit, and I’d say a 50 pounder would be a squeeze. My girl can sit, lay down and turn around comfortably but I really can’t imagine anything larger than 40 pounds.The wheels are great at handling the transition from the house to outside, up and down curbs, across bumpy gravel and she just chills. I do like the multiple ways to load and unload a pet. We mainly use the back door but we have also let her out the front.It was easy to assemble and seems very sturdy. I like the cup holder for a head lamp, the little tray for poop bags and the handle that has many different positions for me 5’3 and hubs 6’1 to comfortably push the buggy.I would definitely recommend this product.

Fantastic engineering, very easy to put together. My big Rottie fits with no issues. Came in a very damaged box though. Thought I’m going to have to return it but it turns out that return will cost you around £150!!! So my partner opened the package and the buggy luckily survived without being damaged. So yes highly recommended but if damaged package – do not accept it from the delivery company as it will cost you a fortune to return it.

This is a really well made “dog pushchair”. The dog has arthritis and it’s easy for him to get in and out and he’s quite happy to sit or lie down when out for a walk. He weighs 25 kilos and its easy to push and copes well on grass as well as paths. Very happy with it and highly recommended.

My 14 year old dog has arthritis, this stroller is great for when we go on our walk. We also took this on our holiday to Keswick when he got tired he jumped in, it mean’t we didn’t have to worry about walking too far.
