Amazing product!
This is an amazing product. I hesitated purchasing because one reviewer said it was cheaply made, and I’m so glad I purchased it anyway. It works! It’s easy! It contains odors! The size is just right! Such a simple thing can make a big difference!

Big Surprise
My mother-in-law is 90 and has a problem with incontinence, although she would tell you there isn’t really a problem. That argument aside, I have gotten really tired of the odor coming from the trash in her bathroom due to the ‘problem that isn’t a problem’ in the way of pads and diapers tossed in the trash after use. Within a matter of hours, the smell can become overwhelming and seems to permeate everything it comes in contact with, even with a single pad or diaper in it. I have run through a long list of sprays, powders, cleaners and witch doctors to try and free all of us from the smell. I stumbled across this trash can doing a random search on how to incinerate her trash and bought it because I’m a desperate woman driven to desperate measures and was ready to try anything. It took me a bit to get her to use it, but once she started using it religiously, there’s no smell emanating from the trash can at all, even if I forget to empty it and it gets filled to the top. Yes, I know, it’s a diaper genie for adults, but I can’t believe I went so long without it or that it’s so efficient at getting rid of the strong smell the old trash can always had. Easy to use, easy to replace bags and I’ve stopped smelling my clothes or asking my husband to smell my hair to see if I smell like her trash can .

Better than a regular trash can
It is easy to use. It does contain more of the smell than a regular trash can however it does not contain it completely. I purchased a small can. My mother wears small depends. We still bag her soiled underwear in a plastic bag along with any wipes that we use with cleaning her up. It can fit about 10 or so small underwear in there but it’s pretty full when we do. The Inner flap will not close if it gets too full so it becomes an indicator it’s time to change the Bag when that happens. The smell still escapes when you’re throwing away underwear but it’s to be expected. What I don’t like is the flap will catch you hand and cause the whole lid to come up if you do not quickly throw it away. I tend to use two hands. One to hold the flap open while the other one shoves the undies through the opening. On a small size trash can, the opening is small. It works for a small size depends underwear but that’s with me really tying that underwear in a bag to a small size. I don’t know how well a bigger size underwear would do. I would strongly suggest you bag that underwear first before throwing it away for any size underwear. That flap shuts quickly and is small. If that underwear is really soiled, you’ll risk having to clean that opening often. Overall, I’m ok with this trash can. It suits our needs enough. I’m not happy about the fact I have to buy the special bags for it but at the same time, I do like the bagging system. I think it’s worth a try if you are looking for a trash can that will help reduce the smell of soiled underwear or diaper. It will reduce the smell but not completely.

Keeps odors in check
Hubby had prostatectomy and resulted in moderate urinary incontinence. He is very sensitive about this issue so we wanted a disposal unit for our master bathroom that would be discreet if company had to use our bathroom. This checks all the boxes. It’s narrow, fits next to the toilet and is easy to refill the disposable liners. Only problem was the labeling on the box when delivered was not discreet.

I have a disabled son who is incontinent. This trash can works great. We were using a diaper pail that obviously was meant for babies and young children. His pull-ups were difficult to get in it so I did my research and found this. It is so much simpler to use. The bags work very much the same as the diaper pail I had but I find this product easier to deal with.Now I have to say that it isn’t completely smell proof but neither was my previous diaper pail. Just urine diapers are fine but if there is a bowel movement I just take the bag out afterwards. The bags made for this make that so simple. You just cut off what you’ve used and then tie a knot in the bottom. Super easy and simple. And if you can’t take it out immediately its far better in this than a open trash can.

Anything that smells
Mom’s house smelled so bad I couldn’t understand what was going on. When I complained it just insulted her because she couldn’t smell anything, and she couldn’t solve the problem if I couldn’t.This device solved all the problems! Now the cat poo, wet wipes, and mom’s depends all go into this new “trash can” and I take it out every other day. Mom is happy to use it because it looks like a large trash can – not a modified item for seniors.For her dignity, I did introduce the trash can by saying g “this is for the cat poo.” She generalized that she can also put her depends in there. *winning!*I never say “I’m taking out the diaper genie” or “I’m taking out your depends.” I just say, “I’m emptying the bathroom trash.” It’s just a bit too challenging for her to do herself. And, I’m not confident she’d remember to tie the knot for the bottom of the bag. But, this is simple, clean, and SO MUCH BETTER than the smell!I also use a baby diaper model (which is narrower) for the cat trash at my house. I highly recommend!

Easy for my mom to use on her own
We just brought my mom home from skilled nursing, and we wanted a way to dispose of her diapers without stinking up her room but also without her having to ask for help every time she had a diaper. She uses the pull-up kind and can do them herself. I just keep this can by her bed, and she is able to work the lid and use it at night. Easy to figure out, and it came fully assembled. Even had the first pack of liners already installed, and it says right on the inside of it which liners to buy to refill, so I don’t have to try to remember. I think this would also work great for baby diapers or any other smelly item. It isn’t perfect at containing the smell, but it’s a lot better than an average trash can and lid.
