Beautifully illustrated and a nice story for the younger child
Let’s start with the story, :it is cute and a play on words: Knight, Night Knight shift vs Night shift. Adults will get it, but the kids will love it. It is beautifully illustrated and a lovely little book for Mom or Dad to read to the child before bed. A cheerful story of dedication to a life choice and achievement of success. Our little owl achieves his objective of becoming a knight. Where he works to protect his castle at night (Knight Shift). I won’t give away how he turns a threat into a friend (hint there is a dragon). Your smallfry will love it.

Beautifully Illustrated super cute story!!
I bought this for my sons 2nd Birthday. I had no expectations for the story but it seemed that the art was well done from the previews/descriptions. Without doubt the artwork IS rich, colorful, and engaging. The story itself is also cute, simple (great for a 2 yr old to follow) and has a pretty surprising/cute twist at the end :).Excellent upfront (we’ve only had the book in our possession for a few days) print quality and craftmansship. However I don’t see this as a book a 2yr old will be able to just have, rather a book that will need to be put away out of reach for a bedtime story time.

intelligence and wit can overcome challenges
In “Knight Owl,” Christopher Denise serves as author and illustrator (he was previously known only as an illustrator). This delightful story recounts the charming and heartwarming tale of a young owl who has dreamed of being a knight ever since he hatched. His tiny size and nocturnal habits, however, initially seem to be impediments to his ambition. Nonetheless, he perseveres, attends knight school, and uses his intelligence and wit to achieve his long-sought goal. His opportunity to prove himself worthy of protecting the castle comes when he’s assigned to the duty of guarding the castle wall — a job made all-the-more important and necessary when knights begin to disappear. One night, a dragon appears at the castle and plans to eat the little owl. Using humor and his wit, he convinces the dragon to eat pizza instead. Knight owl and the dragon are later joined by a host of little dragons and another knight, all of whom becomes friends. From that point on, no more knights disappear from the castle. This truly charming story for children four-to-eight years old, which is extremely well-written and beautifully illustrated, proves that intelligence, wit, and friendship are characteristics that are just as valuable as brawn and strength. Very highly recommended!

LOVE the Knight Owl! When we first received this book we were a little disappointed as it arrived damaged, but that was easily fixed with a quick return and the kids have loved this ever since! The story is charming and heartwarming, with a message about courage and determination, no matter how small you are! It’s great for young readers, or for the whole family, and the illustrations are just beautiful!
