So many ways to play with this cake!
My two and a half year old daughter adores this cake! There are so many ways to play with it! She loves to stack all the layers up and unstack them again. She can nest them all together or scatter them across the room. She already recognized her numbers when we started playing with this cake, but this is a great toy for reinforcing that skill and introducing counting. She loves to turn the cake so she can see all the numbers. Then I help her count the corresponding number of stars on the top of each layer. We also talk about colors with this cake since the border frosting and stars are different colors. The four smallest cakes are small enough to serve at a tea party or could even be used as a birthday cake for a Barbie for older kids. You can sort by colors of frosting, chocolate or vanilla cake, odd or even numbers, or big or small cakes. My daughter’s favorite ways to play with these cakes are to use them as drums (The different sizes make different sounds.) or to use them as stepping stones. She uses the five biggest cakes to step on. I was worried about this at first because other reviewers had said the plastic could break easily. She never jumps on them and doesn’t quite weigh 25 pounds (She’s tiny!), and the cakes support her weight just fine. She also loves to see grown ups hold the bottom layer of cake on their heads so she can stack on top. She thinks it’s hilarious. She’s thrown them on our tile floor a few times, and none of them broke. But the plastic does seem like it could crack if you threw them hard enough, so we keep them on the carpet now. The printed numbers and decorations are holding up great, and none of our cakes have chipped or cracked. I think this is a toy she will play with for years, and there are so many learning and pretending opportunities with it. I would definitely buy it again if it broke or we lost pieces. I would also give it as a gift. It is so fun to play with, even as an adult. I highly recommend purchasing it!

Very Pleased, Learning Resources Never Dissappoints
This review is for the Learning Resources Smart Snacks Stack & Count Layer Cake.I bought this stack & count cake for my 3 year old son. He currently is enrolled in the Early Childhood Special Education program. I’m constantly looking for activities that will grab his interest as well as assist him in the various areas he struggles in. This does that.Included with this purchase is 10 individual cakes- all numbered 1 thru 10- which can stack on top of each other or nest inside of each other. The cakes are made of a hard, albeit thin, plastic. I have been worried that they will break, but they have somehow managed to hold up even with the abuse they’ve endured. The pictures that are used to promote this item are very accurate in their representation of size, color and vibrancy. I was very pleased when they arrived in the mail as they were exactly what I had expected. We use this stacking cake to practice counting, number recognition, stacking, sorting, color identification, and spatial relations. It can be used for both structured and imaginative play.

Awesome and Classic
This toy is a winner. Not too many pieces, great for many ages and stages- I’d say from 18 months till 7 or 8. The very little kids learn how to carefully stack in order of size(i’m sure therapists have a lovely name for that)the 4-6 yr old kids experiment building it upside down or using even or odd numbers. And at any age they do mock birthdays and celebrate, which is always fun. Some of my kids build it just so they can knock it down. Still fun.The quality is very nice. I have mine for over a year and with four rough kids, it is still unbroken. This is my go-to baby gift. I am absolutely sure anyone would love to own it, especially if they have an older child who needs some attention with a new baby around.

Granddaughter loves this!
I purchased this for my granddaughter who is just shy of 2 years old. She played for it for hours! She loved stacking them and then taking them apart and stacking them inside each other or a combination of both. Every time she stacked them high she’d squeal “Big Cake!” She recognizes her numbers already so even if she’d stack them out of numberical order she’d turn the cake until she could see the number and say what number was on it out loud while stacking it. This is a great toy for number recognition as well as learning colors and coordination. Definitely reccommend it!It has now been 2 years since I purchased this. To this day it is my granddaughter’s favorite toy at Mema’s house. Today is Christmas 2012 and she is playing with them over her new gifts.

J’adore cette marque et je la trouve de très bonne qualité mais ce jeux a un plastique très léger. Au bout d’une semaine déjà des fissures qui arrive. Je pense qu’il ne vas pas durer longtemps

I had these at my daycare, they were so popular and well loved. So I bought them for my toddler. They will grow with her and aid in her math, stacking, and imaginative play. And for an extra sensory element you can add shaving cream as pretend icing for some extra fun .
