Excellent mattress. Safer, IMO, and more comfortable than most
I am so happy with this mattress! It has two pieces inside—one is a bit more firm and the other is softer and squishier. You would use the firmer side for a baby and the softer side for a toddler.Infants should always sleep on a firmer mattress because it helps keep their airway clear. If the surface is too soft, they could sink in or roll into a position where it’s harder to breathe. The firmer side gives them the support they need and helps reduce that risk.I love that this doesn’t use any industrial glue to hold it together…this reduces off-gassing (in theory), which is said to be very unhealthy for young children to breathe in.The listing for this mattress specifically says it uses CertiPUR-US certified foam. That means it’s not just “any foam,” but has been independently certified as safer and healthier for babies and toddlers.I got this for my older toddler to have something more comfortable than his current mattress. I also wanted to use his other mattress as a base for a play tent.His sleep quality does actually seem to have improved…he is waking less frequently! There is far less smell with this mattress right out of the bag than others.I love that the cover is waterproof, removable, and washable. It’s easy to clean and a lot more practical for everyday use with kids. Like another reviewer mentioned—there is no “crunchy” sound when laying on this waterproof cover!The quality is high and the fit is perfect for a toddler bed. Soft and Durable Toddler Mattress
The 5″ Toddler Mattress is soft and the perfect size for a baby or toddler bed. The quality is very nice, and it’s easy to wash and care for. A good-quality mattress at a fair price that should last. Thickness is good , two sides are different firmness which is great for using from baby bed to toddler bed .

Great double sided mattress for baby and toddlers
We purchased this 5″ crib mattress to go with our crib, which we didn’t realize didn’t come with a mattress. The mattress came in a vacuum sealed liner and we let it rest for 72 hours (as suggested in the listing) to fluff out before its first use. It didn’t have a strong smell upon removal and the design of the mattress is extremely interesting. One side is soft and when flipped 180 degrees, the other side is firm. You would start off with the firm side if using with a baby, then switch over to the soft side for a growing toddler. The cover is removable and easy to wash in clothes washer. Overall, it fit well in our crib, felt durable, comfortable, and thick enough to avoid the feeling the metal spring.

Comfortable mattress
This 5″ Crib & Toddler Mattress saved my toddler’s sleep quality and mine. He didn’t like the traditional toddler mattresses and had opted to sleep on the floor instead. He’s been sleeping on this mattress since the first night I got it! It’s lightweight and easy to move. It is two foam layers held together by a waterproof outer cover. The outer cover zips all around and it does seem to have that waterproof lining on the inside similar to the waterproof bamboo fitted sheets. The outer cover is soft. Actually the whole mattress feels soft. I kind of want an adult version 😅. It forms to you a little bit and bounces back when you get off it. The quality is impressive as it is odorless but still comfortable. It’s worth the price.

Baby mattress.
This baby mattress came shrink wrapped and does take a little bit to “fluff up”. Once it’s to its normal size, it does fit a normal sized crib.It feels firm enough for a baby while maintaining a comfortable softness too. I think it would be a wonderful mattress to grow with baby into toddlerhood.
