Really nice quality gate, but does impact ability to close the door.
I have purchased several of these types of gates over the years for pets. This is one of the best gates I have ever had – very good quality, sturdy, easy to open and close. It also has the function of staying open when pushed past a certain point and it ACTUALLY stays open. Really nice feature. The adjustable cat door is nice, but be aware that it does rattle. With that in mind, your cat WILL rattle that bad boy when their food dish is empty. At 2 AM. Just sayin’.It installs very easily and sits securely in the doorway and really doesn’t budge once it’s in place. I have bumped into it several times and it hasn’t moved.The only potential issue is that this is a “tall” gate which means it is roughly as high as your average doorknob. I have a gate on a door with a regular “ball” type knob and one on a door with a handle-type knob and both hit the top of the gate, preventing you from being able to close the door fully. Additionally, the part of the gate that impacts the doorknob is the stationary side piece, so even having the gate open will not allow you to fully close the door.Not a terrible issue, but one to be aware of. I have had the shorter, “regular” height gates and they end just underneath the knob and you can close the door. Just an FYI.Overall, a very nice quality gate that works well.

Love this Gate!!!
Love the adjustable cat door🥰. Now my dogs can’t get to the cat food! The door will automatically close but if pushed far enough will automatically stay open. My laundry is in the hallway bathroom and I fold my clothes on my bed, so I don’t have to worry about trying to open it with an arm full of clothes. Very easy to put together. I also love that the ends that tighten to the wall have rubber on them. It’s makes it very secure in the doorway.

The gate is perfect. Easy to install and suitable for adults to use. It keeps my dog out of my cat’s food area. I love the ability to change the size of the cat door and the fact that it slides up and down instead of swinging in and out, so it doesn’t get in the way. The only issue I have with it is that I couldn’t use it in our bathroom for the litter box because we couldn’t close the door with it installed.

Overall it’s a very good gate
Very good at keeping our new puppy in the Great Room with tile for easy clean up. Also, it looks really nice. The latch is a little fussy because I found I need my whole arm free to operate it easily (squeeze and lift). However, that is okay because I LOVE the auto-close. The gate always looks closed to the puppy.

Tricky locking mechanism
I’m very satisfied with the overall quality, and installation was pretty straightforward. However, the gate’s locking mechanism is overly tricky and completely counterintuitive. It has two latches and two buttons. Logically, you’d assume the top button controls the top latch, and the bottom button controls the bottom latch. But that’s not the case at all. Pressing the bottom button doesn’t control the bottom latch; it merely unlocks the top button. The bottom latch can only be lifted manually out of its slot.At first, I thought the bottom button was broken, so I returned the gate and got a replacement. However, the new one works exactly the same way. It took me several days to finally figure out how it’s supposed to operate. After checking other customer reviews, I realized many people ran into the same issue. I strongly suggest the seller clearly explain the locking mechanism in the instruction manual or on the product page.

Nice gate
This gate is awesome! I wish the instructions came with more information about how the gate works as it could have prevented some frustrations. Besides that, it worked well once I understood how it works and how it’s used. I purchased it to keep sneaky dogs out of the cat room and it’s doing a great job! The dogs would need crash into the gate pretty hard to get past it.Things I wish I knew before installing:It won’t stay latched if there isn’t enough tension. Don’t take the strap off until satisfied with the tension. Put the strap tightly back on if you need to increase tension and use the tool to adjust.The door must be lifted in order to open. Look at the hinges while lifting the door to get an idea of how much lift is needed.

Not as good as expected.
It was more difficult to install than expected. The extension piece did not snap into place. It was loose and kept coming apart. The gate was difficult to open and close until I discovered I could put a piece of tape over the spring loaded piece at the bottom and now it works beautifully. I do love the cat door, though, and it is easily adjustable. And I also like the added height as my daughter brings her french bulldog who could easily jump over the 30″ gate. We are hoping it is strong enough to keep him from knocking it down.

Great gate but hit or miss with button opening
I bought this so my cats could have a safe space room from my dog. (He occasionally likes to chase them – strictly playing, but they don’t appreciate it.) It’s very sturdy and stands up to my 63lb pitt-mix dog! I’ve had other pressure mount gates in the past but these are the best I’ve found. I like that you can swing the gate in both directions AND it auto-closes behind you. The only negative is that it can be hit or miss as far as getting a gate where the button is easy to push in. My 1st one was great so I bought a 2nd for my other room. I sent it back for replacement because it was very difficult to press down on the button to open it. My original continues to work normally. The replacement worked normally for the first few months. Lately, it’s become a little harder to press but not bad. They do need to work out the button malfunction. If you need a tall gate with a cat entry slot, it’s definitely worth the money as long as you get one with a correctly functioning button.

I bought this gate to keep our puppy from going downstairs while also giving our cat a puppy free space. I love the small pet door. Our huge cat fits through the door on the second largest setting and the puppy doesn’t fit, so the cat can be safe but also free. The installation was a breeze. I love that it’s *actually* pressure mounted – no holes in the walls at all. And the fit is tight. Love that the door swings both ways making it easy to walk through going up or down the stairs. Solid quality. I’m super impressed.

A bit of a flimsy product. It’s hard to open and close, not a smooth mechanism at all. Overall does the job which is keeping the baby out while allowing the cat to enter.

Overall it’s a good baby gate! Easy to put together. I like that you can swing it both ways. The only downfall is how the cat door can be dropped down quite easily, it wouldn’t be hard for our baby to press the release button. We ended up putting a ziptie to ensure that the cat door can’t fall and squish her fingers (if she does manage to get the button).
