Works great and no damage when removed
Busy mom here. I don’t usually write reviews but I was super impressed with these so I’m taking the time to do so.I know these are primarily for cabinets. I ended up using it at the top of our front door to keep my toddler from running outside.It was on our door for 3 years. It was pulled on many times, sometimes really hard. It never broke or came loose.Finally today I went to remove it. I used my hair dryer for 60 seconds to warm up the adhesive, then gently used a butter knife to pry it off. At first there was sticky white adhesive left behind. I used my thumb and gently rubbed it away.The whole process took less than 10 minutes. There was zero damage to my door or the fake wood trim next to it. It looks like the latch was never even there.I’m beyond impressed with the quality of this lock and highly recommend it.

You Never Know where a Lock will be Needed!
These are easy to install without using any tools, and work flawlessly. My refrigerator freezer door would not stay shut completely and I needed something that would hold the door closed. Checked on Amazon and what do you know – they had just the kind of thing I needed. Ordered, quick delivery, and my freezer door now stays shut. Then my 2 year old German Shepherd decided he was going to get into the refrigerator one day while I was gone and I came home to a huge mess on the floor. Got another one of these locks out, installed it within a minute, and have foiled my GSD from opening the door. If you have a GSD, you’ll know how they don’t want you out of their sight. He then busted into the bathroom because he didn’t like that I was out of sight and broke the lock. Once again, another lock on the bathroom door on the outside and the inside in order to keep Mr. Troublemaker from deciding to see where I am.One just never knows where one will need this type of lock, but these have been a lifesaver so I don’t have to throw everything away out of my refrigerator and/or freezer and also have a few minutes of private time away from GSD prying eyes. Would definitely purchase again.

Purchased this item to keep the bathroom cabinet closed that we keep our cleaning products in to prevent the kids from being able to open it and get into those products. It was easy to put on, made of sturdy material, and works like a charm. I do wish it came with a few different sizes as a I have a door that doesn’t stay open and had attempted to use one to keep the door open but the length wasn’t long enough for that specific task. But other than that this is a fabulous product to keep kids out of cabinets or even put one on the toilet seat to keep the lid closed so children aren’t attempting to flush things down the toilet. Highly recommend

Sticks perfectly but strap didn’t hold against 2-yr-old
We got these because our toddler likes to open the fridge, pull out all the salad dressing bottles, slam it closed, and occasionally the fridge gets left open. These safety locks came exactly as described, were easy to install, and the adhesion is incredibly strong. Unfortunately the place where you initially adjust the length and they are thereafter not adjustable was not strong enough to hold the strap under repeated pressure. My two-year-old was rather determined and we figured it was good for him to attempt and fail to open the fridge, so he’d learn to not try in the future. Unfortunately the more he pulled, the more the strap came through that ‘no longer adjustable’ portion until the strap came out completely and he gave us a triumphant shout of glee. Now we are stuck needing to buy goo gone to remove the adhesive off our fridge and find a new solution to him playing with the fridge door. :(Update: Finally got around to using goo gone and removing the strap lock. Since they came in a 4-pack, we thought we’d try again. This time we installed two of the strap locks (we have a side-by-side refrigerator), one for the freezer and one for the fridge. Instead of connecting the two sides together, we attached the front of the door up to the top of the appliance. So far, that *is* holding quite effectively. We are grateful to have found a solution without ordering something else (other than the goo gone that is).
