Okay, so I have French freezer doors on my fridge. These are the bottom third of my fridge, and I’ve never had an issue with them. Still don’t. They function perfectly like the day I bought it.I then got a cat. He’s a Bengal. Boundless energy, and smarter than I give him credit for. His name is Tobin. Generally he’s a good cat, but he certainly like to stir the pot when he’s feeling mischievous.Believe it or not, he has somehow figured out how to open the freezer doors. I didnt think it was possible until he did it in front of me. Multiple times. I have video.I got these to stop him from opening the doors and risking food spoiling. Luckily they’re French door style, and this is the perfect length to fit over the gap between the doors. I love that there’s a release button on either side, and it’s sticky enough that it’s successfully stopped Tobin from his freezer door antics better than any deterrence I tried otherwise.Point is, it’s functional, durable, convenient, and will stop your cat from opening the freezer doors.

Durable, Easy to Use & Perfect for Child Safety
I ordered these on September 21 and they were delivered the very next day — super fast shipping. Installation was quick and simple. I know the adhesive is secure because when I had to redo one, it was very difficult to remove. That was completely user error on my part — I didn’t measure well enough before installing, and once you take it off, the sticky pad can’t be reused, so I lost one that way.The locks themselves feel durable and well made, and the flexible strap design makes them easy to use on different drawer and cabinet sizes. My almost 4-year-old can figure out the push button, but I bought these mainly for my 1-year-old who constantly pulls bowls and sippy cups out of the lower drawers. For that purpose, they work perfectly — they keep him out and give me peace of mind knowing he’s safe. Plus, I no longer have to spend 20 minutes a day putting everything back in the drawer.

Great deterrence, but easily overpowered
These locks work as intended, but if you pull too hard the straps will break apart fairly easily. For a toddler or baby without a lot of strength they might work okay, but an adult (who forgets these are in place) can easily just pull them apart with light to moderate force. I think they are more of a deterrence than an actual prevention. They won’t keep a determined person from just pulling them apart.I got these to hold the door of an aging refrigerator shut (the door seals/magnets need replaced but we are going to get a fridge soon anyway), and they work well for that purpose. However, even the slightest tug by someone who forgot it was there will cause the strap part to separate at the ends where it goes into the lock part. I’ve been able to put the straps back together and reinforce them with tape so that I can keep using the locks. They do a great job at holding the door shut as long as there is no extra force being applied.

Bought these to keep my dog out of the trash in my kitchen. They look nice and do the job. I was trying to research a dog proof stainless trash can which doesn’t exist and would have cost 20 times more than this inexpensive solution! It locks easily, very adhesive and wont budge, easily unlatches, easy to install just peel and stick!!!
