IPOZITO Play Gym: A good gym that just need a few more features to justify its price point
I ordered the IPOZITO Baby Gym Play Mat with the intention of making life a bit easier for the parents who visit with their little ones. Rather than having them bring all their gear each time, I wanted to have something fun and functional already in place. In that sense, this play gym meets the need quite well.The IPOZITO gym feels safe. There are no small parts, no loose stitching, and no sharp edges. It avoids the multitude of concerns that parents and caregivers often have when caring for babies and toddlers. The barnyard theme is cute and cheerful. I personally enjoy it, but I have not noticed that it makes an impression on the babies who use it.One feature I genuinely appreciate is that the entire gym is machine washable. With babies and toddlers, messes are unavoidable, so being able to clean everything thoroughly and easily is a major advantage.I do wish the mat were thicker and plusher. While it is comfortable, I believe a more luxurious mat would have been appropriate given the overall design and price. When little ones visit, I always lay down a six by seven foot foam mat on the floor. That extra layer makes playtime more comfortable both for the children and for me when I am down on the floor with them. Because of that, the mat’s relative thinness is not a problem.I am disappointed that a carry bag was not included. At this price point, I believe that the folks at IPOZITO should have included a bag for storage and transport. It would be especially helpful for families who plan to take the play gym with them when visiting others.This is a giftable item, but the packaging does not make a strong impression. If someone brings this to a baby shower, they should know that the box is quite generic. The box lacks the visual appeal, that “je ne sais quoi” that typically generates excitement during gift-giving moments.In terms of value, the value proposition for the IPOZITO play gym feels fair. The folks at IPOZITO priced it at the higher end of comparable play gyms. While the construction is solid, a few thoughtful additions such as a thicker mat, a carry bag, or a music feature would have helped justify the cost more clearly.The IPOZITO Baby Gym Play Mat is functional and useful. I am glad to have it ready for the children who visit my home. Still, considering its price, I expected two or three more extras and a more polished presentation.
