Melissa & Doug Musical Instruments Sound Puzzle – Wooden Peg Puzzle with Light-Activated Sound Effects (8 pcs) Wooden Peg Baby Music Learning Toys, for Toddlers and Preschoolers Ages 2+
Original price was: $18.99.$9.99Current price is: $9.99.
Eight instruments are ready for their “conductor.” Place an instrument piece correctly in the puzzle board and listen to it play. Then remove each piece to discover the identity of each of the instruments! (TIP: Puzzle has light-activated sensors; for best results, expose the sensor by removing a piece in a brightly lit room, then make the sound play by replacing the piece in the board.)
Interactive Puzzle Play – 8-piece wooden peg puzzle plays realistic instrument sounds when pieces are lifted and replaced, introducing young kids to music through hands-on, sensory play
Discover Musical Instruments – Lift each piece to reveal matching illustrations and hear high-quality sounds from instruments like the piano, trumpet, drums, and more, helping kids connect sight, sound, and shape
Lift-to-Play, Light-Activated Sounds – Sounds activate when pieces are lifted and stop when replaced; built-in light sensors work best in bright settings with pieces fully removed to trigger each sound
Skill-Building Play for Toddlers – Easy to grasp peg pieces designed to support fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and early problem-solving skills in a fun, screen-free format.
Great Gift for Ages 2 to 5 – Makes an ideal screen-free gift for toddler and preschool girls and boys; encourages independent learning and early music appreciation (2 AAA batteries required, not included)

Fun little puzzle
My year old grandson likes this puzzle and the sounds it makes. It is sturdy. He can’t put the pieces back in exactly right yet, so it’s nice that the instrument’s sound will play even when the piece is just hovering over the place it goes. The only problem is that my daughter-in-law says it will sometimes play some of the musical sounds when no one is playing with it.

Fun Puzzle for 2 Year Old
This is a fun puzzle for our 2-year-old. The fact that it plays music for each piece is cute. I wish it would play more than one instrument at a time.

Great puzzles for my kid
We have a few of these puzzles and they are my kids favorite. The sounds are loud enough but not TOO loud that they become obnoxious. The pieces fit nicely into their spots and come out easy enough. It’s nice for him to get to learn about various instruments as well. The only bad thing I can think of to say is that in order for the sounds to work there needs to be decent lighting. Something about the sensors on the puzzle need to see light before you cover them back up in order to trigger the sound. The sounds can also be triggered without putting the pieces back just by motion. We highly recommend these books for anyone with kids. Great fun and a good learning tool.

The product is great for 2 year olds. It might be a difficult of a grandparent.
The product works well if I only followed directions. It is best used in bright light. If used in darkness it won’t work as well.

All are malfunction !!
I purchased 5 sound puzzles, Farm animals, Pets, zoo animals, music instruments, Vehicles. None of them work!! I have purchased many many toys from Melissa& Doug in the past, never had issues.I tried to provide efficient lighting as instructed, not working. There is no sound whether the puzzles covered the sensors or puzzles matched or not, then sounds come on when no one is playing in our empty play area. I changed batteries, not helping. I did not open them until recently my son is old enough to play the puzzles but the return windows were closed. Please Please reenforce quality control, and identify the defected ones. This is such a wonderful concept for children to learn variety of skills, fine motor skills, cognitive as well as communication skills.I am happy to provide videos if needed to prove purchase.

READ the DIRECTIONS 😆😂
Melissa and Doug have proven their worth over & over again!Note to perspective buyers. Puzzle must be played in good over head light. I put batteries in & checked to see if the sound worked. My living room is not very bright so it only kind of worked. Operator error 😆 I READ the directions 😆, moved to my BRIGHT kitchen and the sound is crystal clear!I can not say enough about Melissa and Doug products ❤️

Sometimes the sound is loud, and at times it’s too low. I didn’t wish to get into the return hassle hence kept the product. You can easily let go this one
