Awesome design and long lasting
Hands down – this gate is amazing. We have 3 of them and they have held up beautifully for nearly 4 years. They are nice to look at and blend with the house instead of looking like plastic garbage or like my kids took to kicking down the wooden ones. These are heavy duty and last. I don’t even care that my kids are now 5 and 7 and can open them on their own now…if anything it keeps the dogs out of areas they shouldn’t be (my kid has allergies and we have to keep them away from all the bedrooms and bonus, it keeps dogs upstairs when people come to the door so they can’t greet our guests before we do). I love these gates…you will too.

Not easy to install but do it right and it works great
I like this gate. It wasnt the easiest to install, but if you do it right, it will work fine. I have mine installed into drywall as there arent any studs where i wanted to put it. One of the drywall anchors is coming lose after about 3 months of use, but thats probably my own fault that i didnt use a drill for the hole. So to open the gate you have to push this little piece on top to one side or another, then lift up on the gate and pull it out. It isnt that hard to do as some reviews state, and a toddler certainly isnt strong enough to open it themself. It wasnt the easiest to install but it is good and sturdy and does the job.

The best choice
This gate checks off every box. Easy to install, VERY easy to use, can open into a room or out of the room, DOES NOT come out of the mounts when opening, opens the full width of the doorway, does not have ANYTHING to step over. Best thing my SON IN LAW said “these are better than ours, we need to get these”!!! Nana for the win!!!

Secure and easy to remove
As grandparents we occasionally babysit the grand kids and we wanted a gate at the top of the stairs that was sturdy but that could be removed easily when the kids weren’t present. The space we have available has a wall at one side and a railing at the other. This gate worked well in the space we had and was both rugged and can be removed easily. I also like the fact that it doesn’t push out against the walls and stair rails. I did however need to build out the rail post with a piece of wood, also bought on Amazon, held to the post with velcro strapping. I did this to avoid needing to screw the gate closure hardware into the post itself since this is a relatively temporary installation. It all works fine.

Hard at first, easy after…
This was more of a project to install but was worth the time and effort. My 20-month old for the last 5 months has been traversing the stairs with the help of mom and dad to learn. We are always hand-at-back ready to catch him. Every time without fail he gets to the top of the stairs, stands up, walks around to grab this gate, and closes it himself. He can’t reopen it yet, but the little man is mechanically inclined and already figured out our exterior door locks and handles, but it’s tough enough to do that I’m hoping he’ll be solid on the stairs before he figures it out. In other words, so easy to close that even a toddler can do it, but not easy enough to open even for a toddler that knows how to use a screwdriver. Looks good, works well, and the little guy a few months ago had a habit of shaking the thing with full force and that’s a decent amount of force. I’d buy again, and actually will probably buy another for the base of the stairs later this year to replace a different style I have at the base.

This is probably the best baby gate we’ve purchased (and we’ve had quite a few in the past with three kids). It was very affordable, so we bought three: one for the top of the stairs and one for each of the bottom steps since our staircase splits and goes in two directions. Very sturdy. My daughter, who is now 20 months, cannot figure out how to open it, which is the most important part. It is a little tricky at first to learn how to open it, but within a few tries my husband and I plus our two older boys (5 and 8) learned and have no problems. Plus, since we’ve used it on our staircases in our home, it looks like it’s part of the furniture/decor. I love that it’s not an ugly white plastic baby gate like all the other ones we’ve had. Only took a few minutes to put together. My husband also put wood on each side with zip ties to hold it on the railings, worked great.

Works well with different anchors
We have two of these for the stairs and have been using them 4 months. We have a preschooler and a toddler, but they are not very rough with the gates. Top of stairs gate is great. Bottom of stairs gate has issues, possibly because the gate is extended wider (but still within range) for the bottom?Cons:-Screws and anchors provided for the load bearing hinge are not sufficient in drywall. We did not have studs where needed, so we used provided hardware and it came loose quickly just from opening and closing. Had to replace with heavy duty drywall anchors and long screws for the top hinge of each gate.-The plastic fitting on the top bar near the load bearing hinge came loose and now the gate sags and is not aligned (see pics) – I have to lift and push to close instead of just pushing to close. This happened before and we pushed it back in, but now it is loose again. I am awaiting response from manufacturer.-Very difficult to install at top and bottom of stairsPros:-I taught my responsible preschooler how to use the gate so she can use the stairs freely, and the “push to close” feature is fantastic for her (and us) in making sure gate always gets closed to protect the toddler.-Toddler cannot open it-Not too difficult for adult to open with one hand once you have practice-Gate does not have a threshold to step over and only swings opens one direction (you choose the direction when installing) – both features are important for stairs

This is a remarkably good quality item! We are very pleased with it so far, took a bit of time to put inlace as it is a hardware mounted gate, which is what we wanted. We have a blind dog, who we wanted to be sure wouldnt fall down the stairs and this fits the bill! It looks good, easy to open and close. Husband said not hard to install…just follow the directions and you will be fine.

Very sturdy, well-made gate. Bit of a pain to put up since I needed to put screw anchors in (plaster walls) but it’s really nice, super easy to open and close and very sturdy.

Very sturdy, installed for 2 months now and no issues. Can open latch with 1 hand.4 star because installation requires skill, knowledge, experience and appropriate tools.

This is an amazing baby gate! It was quite a pain to install, but now that it’s up it is super sturdy and easy to open and close. I have mine at the top of the stairs and my one year old constantly rattles it and tried to open the latch to no avail. I’m confident that my baby is safe with this gate.

This is a great product and sure beats the plastic ones I’ve seen. It’s metal and powder coated, assembles fairly easily, is very sturdy and the catch mechanism works well, although it is hard to unlatch without hear a audible click. It does require to be securely screwed into the wall, either into a stud or strong drywall anchors at 4 points, 2 on each side. Now I use it for my fur babies, as my Golden Lab always invades my cat’s corner of the bathroom where her food is. The gate spans the alcove nicely and I used a small hacksaw to cut out one bar, secured with zip ties and taped up the ends, for the cat to walk through. Strong enough to keep a 60lbs golden lab out, fortunately she’s too old to jump the gate.
