Breathing Wear works exclusively with the Nanit Baby Monitor camera to monitor your baby’s breathing motion without putting sensors on your baby. The Breathing Band can be used over most garments, as long as you can place the Breathing Band underneath the baby’s arms. The Breathing Band should not be placed around a swaddle. It is imperative you place the Band around their torso and under their arms so that it stays secure, otherwise the Band could pose a suffocation or strangulation hazard. Avoid dressing your baby in thick garments or sleeping bags like the Merlin Magic while using Breathing Wear, as the thick fabric prevents motion from being detected. In order for breathing motion monitoring to work properly, the Breathing Wear pattern must be in clear sight of the camera with nothing obscuring the pattern. Always be sure to follow safe sleep practices.

Absolutely love this and it’s a great addition to my entire Nanit “collection”. It doesn’t feel cheap and it’s so easy to use. We were previously using the Owlet foot monitor but would constantly forget to put it on and then in order to put it on you have to get the baby’s foot out of the clothes and any sort of sleep sack/swaddle. I love this because it goes right over the baby. It is just a nice extra piece of mind item for me and my husband. I love that it is easy to travel with too and also no need to charge or connect it to wifi (like the owlet).

Preparing for the Next Step with Peace of Mind
It’s a bit bittersweet since my baby is currently outgrowing the largest Nanit Sleep Sack, so we’re getting ready to transition to the Nanit Breathing Wear Band. I bought the band when my little one was about a year old, trying to be proactive, but have only used it a few times because it’s quite large for him right now.When I wrap it around my 1.4 year old, I end up fastening it at the very end of the Velcro, so it feels a bit loose. But I know once he fully outgrows the sleep sack, we’ll be using this band much more often.Honestly, this breathing monitoring feature gives me incredible peace of mind, knowing I can keep an eye on his breathing from anywhere is priceless.

Love our nanit and love the band
Love this. Got the medium for my 3 month old. He’s 14lbs and it fits well with room to grow. Seems comfortable enough. I’ve put it on him over his swaddle/sleep sack and even my itself when he just sleeps with a onesie. My Nanit camera picks it up with no problem. We love our nanit camera and the breathing band makes us a little bit more at ease with he’s sleeping by himself. He moves a lot in his sleep and it still picks up his breathing well. Would recommend!

You need this for day time
I love the Nanit breathing band. For the first few months of my daughter’s life I did not have one, and I can tell you life is definitely easier once we got one.Pros: if you have anxiety about sids, this is a game changer. It will notify you if your baby stops breathing during the night so you don’t feel the need to wake up and check on them all the time. Another massive pro for me is that it tells you how many breaths per minute they are at during their sleep. So if they are at 20 bpm you know it will be a while until they wake up and you can shower, exercise, etc. but if they’re at 30 bpm they will probably wake up soon and you don’t have time to do anything. This is amazing for naps during the day!Cons: it can scrunch up a little but honestly it’s not that bad. I only notice because we also have the Nanit sleep sack and that doesn’t scrunch at all.Overall I would definitely recommend.

Good quality, and is a good size for babies 3-6 month size and up, it does stretch out a bit but if you wash it. It will go back to its normal size.

I love this Nanit breathing band and haven’t had any issues using it so far. The Nanit monitor picks it up easily, even when my baby moves around in her sleep. It’s been incredibly reassuring, especially now that she sometimes rolls to sleep on her tummy. The added peace of mind knowing her breathing is being monitored helps me sleep better, too. This would be an awesome addition to an awesome monitor… if it was bigger! My son is 5 months old and on the 15th centile for weight, but the large band I bought barely fits him now and certainly won’t up to 18 months. Very unimpressed with the response from directly emailing Nanit customer support: they replied it “runs a bit small”, larger breathing wear is in development but this doesn’t represent a fault with the product therefore no replacement. Not happy!
