Best dog gate I have owned
I have owned a lot of different types of dog gates. From the really expensive iron gates with an easy walk thru door to the simple wooden tension mounted gates and various plastic gates in between. What I love about this gate is that it’s retractable and mounted to the inside of the doorway so when it is retracted you never see it from the other side of the room. It is super easy to pull close and retract. Our door opening is 60″ wide for 2 sliding barn doors and it fits the opening just perfectly. That is the max opening for this gate. I just give the knob on top a turn to release it and then pull it open or retract it closed. I can do it with one hand. You do not have to have your hand on the knob to open or close the gate the entire time as some reviews have stated. I don’t think they read the operating instructions. With a 60″ wide doorway that would be impossible. The installation was really easy. It comes with a template for the left and the right side of the doorway with an outline of the hardware drawn on the template so you know which piece goes on which side and the orientation. They couldn’t make it any easier. It also includes spacers to accommodate your wall trim at the floor. Super happy with this purchase and it keeps my dogs securely in their room. The last expensive metal gate with swinging door that we had, my dachshund figured out how to press the mechanism at the bottom of the door to unlock the gate and get out. Nothing on this one for him to unlock. Great purchase. Seems well made but no rating for durability yet as I have only had it a month.Update: 5 mos later – gate is holding up well. But my dogs (20 lb) daschund mixes have figure out they can go under the gate and escape. The vinyl is not completely taught when expanded out and latched to the other side of the doorway. There is just enough play where they can lift up the material with their noses and squeeze under. Ugh. Once again another dog gate foiled by my two escape artists. A bigger dog would probably not be able to do this. I really love this gate and wanted it to work because it looks nice and retracts out of site when not in use.

Superior Alternative to Rigid Gates
I love this system, as opposed to wood or metal gates, because it’s much more fluid when moving between rooms. I bought the extra-wide model, intending to block multiple areas with one gate by strategically installing extra catch-latches. This is a really handy DIY hack to save on the purchase of multiple gates if you’re space is set up for it. I would caution that any DIY modifications would probably void any warranty of liability.I use these to contain my 3 pets, two of which are large pit bulls. Be careful with the extra-wide model to install low enough to the ground to prevent crawling underneath, where there is just a little slack in the middle. My 60 lb staffy can get under easily, but all 3 have learned to abide this system. All other rigid-type gates have been jumped or broken through within hours, if not, minutes. I think they are stumped by the mesh material & how to beat it!These roll up into a compact little package & fade right into the background, unlike clumsy, fumbling rigid gates. They are easy to install & operate. The extra-wide model is a little tricky because the locking mechanism is so strong. It can be difficult to fully extend without the lock catching, which is frustrating, but not much when considering the sturdiness and effectiveness of the system. Definitely recommend!

Perfect for our needs
Purchased this to install outside at the top of the stairs on second story deck to keep dogs from going down to the yard. Picked this one because it was the tallest one I could find, as we have 60 pound lab and pit, (one of whom likes to jump over things if she can get her head above it) Neither dog is a gate crasher, meaning that they don’t jump up on and scratch at doors or try to push through things, and they are mostly respectful of a physical barrier. I would not trust this item with a dog that is willing to push the limits, and also a determined small dog could probably get their nose under it and find their way to escape under it. Other then this, it is a great gate. It has been mounted outside on the deck for 6 months now. I worked flawlessly through the winter (snow and ice included), and has been trouble free. sometimes the release knob is a little fiddly, but if you are patient, it can be opened and closed with only one hand. It’s when you get in a hurry that it locks up and requires 2 hands to work. One of our dogs has scratched at it a few times and it seems to have held up. There are some scratches in the fabric, but they didn’t make a hole. I have no complaints about this gate as far as our needs go.

My small dogs can scoot under the gate.
I bought this to put across the opening between dining room and kitchen. It was to keep my two small dogs on my tile floor when I am gone for an extended period of time. Both of my dogs can crawl under it with no problem. It is easy to install just doesn’t work as I hoped. I have to set things in front of the gate to make sure they stay in this area.

This gate is excellent. It took me like 15 minutes to install and it’s perfect for the doorway I needed it for. The doorway is awkward and won’t fit most gates but this one actually fits !! I would 100% recommend !!

Quite good quality, just know you will sometimes need 2 hands to properly operate it. We used it for top of the stairs and are quite happy, with perhaps the only critic of this model type is that, while perfectly discreet and more elegant than other models, *you actually need to remember to close it* – whereas bulkier gates usually have an auto-closing mechanism.Other than that, quite happy and it was pretty easy to install.

It’s a good quality retractable gate and fits 1.8 m entrance/openings. All fittings are top quality and instructions are comprehensive. They have taken care of fixing inside and outside doorway and also provided for the floor having skirting. I purchased for a door way that is about 0.9 m wide and fixed it in another opening that is 1.8 m.It works very well and serves the purpose. I was not sure of how it will fare with year old twins, but it serves well.Installation takes some work if you are not accustomed to drilling/DIY stuff.The skirting we had is granite, luckily I consulted a neighbour who advised against drilling in granite with home use drills. Installed it just above the 10-11 cm skirting.
