Not very easy to position correctly
I foster animals so I have a variety of safety gates to help keep the animals separated. Of all the gates that I have, this one is the hardest to align and the hardest to operate. I had to fiddle with getting it open just enough to fit into the doorway but far enough away from the walls so that the handle would close. (Closing the handle makes the gate fit more securely.) And each time you remove it, you have to go through it all again. I have other tension gates that you can just push each side of the gate to get it to attach correctly (so no handle that tightens it.) I think if you never wanted to move this, it might be okay. I didn’t install the “cups” that were included because it said several times it was tension and no drill. And while that is correct, I overlooked the part about putting the cups onto the door frame. I could have done that with the sticky tape that was included, but I didn’t want to screw up my doors. Yes tape and drilling are different – but tape can tear of paint when it’s removed. I’ll admit I should have read the description a little better. If the cups are needed, it will make it difficult to be portable/move from doorway to doorway because you wouldn’t have enough for each door. I did find that I was able to get the gate tight enough without using them that I didn’t fear it would come unattached. But it was hard to close the latch with the amount of tension needed to do that. I think it’s a decent gate and seems to be durable/well made. And I like that it’s made from recycled material. But for me, there are other tension type gates that are much easier to operate and to move around.

I picked up this gate because I wanted something easy, sturdy, and eco-friendly, and it really checks all the boxes. It’s made from 100% recycled plastic, which is awesome, but it still feels surprisingly strong and well-built. The color (Sea Grass Green) actually looks really nice in person and blends in well without feeling too “baby gear” loud.Setup was super simple. Since it’s pressure-mounted, I didn’t have to drill anything into the walls — just twist the tension knobs and it locks in tight. It holds really firmly once in place and doesn’t wobble, even with toddlers or pets pushing on it. I love that it adjusts from 26 to 42 inches, so it fits different doorways around the house. It’s also lightweight enough that moving it from room to room isn’t a hassle.Functionality-wise, it does exactly what it should: keeps kids (and pets) where they need to be, works indoors or outdoors, and is easy to clean. My new favorite gate!! 10/10 recommend!!
I’ve been using this gate for a few weeks now and I really love it. It is a bit taller than my other baby gate- which is really nice with a toddler(he can’t climb over it haha). It is VERY easy to put in place. One of the times I was putting it up, I had it too tight and it clicked very loudly but didn’t break- which I appreciated. But the takeaway is don’t make it too tight on the door! I have not installed the cups that they include, as I move the gate around a lot. If at the top of a set of stairs, I would use the cups. But they aren’t necessary in a normal door with parental supervision. My toddler isn’t able to move it or climb over it! Very secure. Highly recommend!!

Ok baby gate for leaving in place for long periods
I’m giving this a 3.25 star rating.It looks nice and the color is consistent overall.The plastic is quite sturdy and doesn’t flex easily and seems to be good quality.Adjusting the width is relatively easy, though it does stick when sliding it (esp. when making it narrower from fully extended).The rubber bumpers that go against the wall/door jam are heavy duty and don’t leave marks on the wall.Getting the lever to lock the gate in place takes quite a bit of effort and the handle flexes quite a bit to get it into the hole to hold it in place. I’m not sure how long the handle will be able to take the stress before it actually breaks and makes the gate useless. I did not use plastic mounts that use sticky tape to attach to the wall. This would change the width that the gate needs to go and change how it locks in place.The above makes the gate not easily movable and you have to unlock the gate to actually get past it.Best for blocking a walkway/stairway for longer periods of time rather than one that is used frequently which would need to have the gate moved lots.
