Strong, versatile and easy to set up
I needed this as I’m non weight bearing on one leg for a few more weeks. It’s very easy to set up, easy to install, and really convenient to use. If installed correctly, it’s extremely supportive. The swivel desk is easy to adjust in height and moves both around the central post and around the attachment to the base arms, so it’s versatile. Love this thing: I may never put the laptop table back.

Table doesn’t tilt
I had high hopes for this table. Two main problems with it: first the table doesn’t tilt so a laptop isn’t in the right position for typing/browsing, too flat, OK for eating, I suppose. I think I’ll make some shims with longer screws so it’ll be at a better angle. i don’t usually use it to eat anyway.Second, because it doesn tilt, it has to be so low, the bar that supports the table hits my knees when I swing it in.Minor problem: the tray for remotes is slippery so when I swing the table in or out, the remotes slide out unless I go slowly.The base on my chair is round so the table feet are just barly held down by the chair base.The get-up handle is OK but not in the best position to use.

Not very stable.
First off, I feel this is way overpriced. The metal on it is sturdy enough. But the design is not good. Your chair needs to have four individual feet on it. And it needs to be heavy or the table is wobbly. There was not way I would ever consider using the handle to get up from a chair. The way the base is made keeps it from fitting chairs that have solid platform legs. There is a metal piece that runs across the middle. It’s raised. So the legs have to sit on the two flat platform pieces. The tray is nice and swivels back and forth so you can get it out of your way. The adjustable height is not good either. It makes the tray too high or too low. There are fixed holes for adjustment. We like the tray but will not use it as intended because it’s just not stable enough. It’s also very heavy. Seniors may have difficulty moving it around. Some assembly is required.

Works wonderfully if you secure it correctly
I bought this for my mother to help her get in and out of bed. Yes it can be used around chairs if they are heavy enough. This table works so well as far as swiveling it around to reach for something or a tray of food or a laptop. I found although that the heavier the object you sit on the other floor end of it the better it works. Mom uses it to pull up so the weight of the bed frame makes it sturdy enough for her rather good arm strength. There is no assembly and it will adjust to any height needed. The wood grain top and the 1/2 to 1 inch lower slatted tray to the side keeps pencils and remotes, even drinks from falling off. Great design and functionality. She loves it. Great value for what her mobility means to her.
