Effective light blocking and does insulate.
What a difference! I had what I thought were light blocking drapes but they were just barely enough to cover the window. There was nothing to spare for the edges. I sized different drapes but these had a great color and were too large for my windows. The sale didn’t hurt one bit.These drapes come with a rod pocket which is better than drapes with tabs for light blocking.I had no trouble getting the rod into the rod pocket but my rods are fairly thin. However if I just threaded the rod into the rod pocket, they wouldn’t block out enough light at both ends of the window. However there was so much width to spare, I just cut the pocket so I could get the drape past the bracket for the rod. If you are worried about fraying you can use a fabric glue to lock the fabric in place. With the drapes bunched up nicely, there is no chance the cuts can be detected unless of course someone wants to figure out how you got the drapes past the bracket.Of course these were too long for the window. That wasn’t really a problem but for convenience I used a tacking stitch to shorten the curtains which preserved them for future use on higher windows.The light blocking is impressive. With the curtains drawn the room resembles a cave.It is indeed insulating. The afternoon temperature seems to have dropped approximately 5 degrees and I no longer run the AC much.The drapes are too new for laundering however unlike most light blocking drapes with the latex backing, I expect these to wash better than average.

Absolutely incredible price for the quality! They are lightweight but durable, and add an elegant look to any room. I didn’t love the look of my old blinds in my bedroom window, putting these curtains over the blinds was the best move! Love the green color aswell, perfect for a woodsy themed room!Very soft, blocks out light well. Hoping between the blinds and the curtains I can keep nice and warm this winter.Only downside is I wish it came with a string to tie them back, I used hair ties but a nice way to pull the curtains back would be a nice touch. Still love them!

It’s a beautiful rich green satin like color & texture .I’m Very pleased with it ! I needed it because my older curtains weren’t blocking the light so much . Now with these nice room darkening curtains .. I might just not wake up on time for work lmao 😊

Great blackout curtains for the price
These are awesome. Our bedroom windows face two of our landlord’s outside security lights which basically stay on the entire night. We used to have other curtains and blinds, but they weren’t blocking enough of the light. Now, the room is pitch black at night, despite these bright white lights shining directly outside our windows. Also, during the day it makes the room pitch black when we have them closed. It could be bright and sunny outside and the room will look like it’s nighttime. My pictures don’t do the light blocking justice, but right now it’s 1pm and very sunny. However, the room is super dark. The camera adjusts the light a bit to make the curtains look bright, but they’re barely a faint glow and only when you’re looking at them since we have cream colored ones—they don’t actually let the light infiltrate.I’m also excited to see how they help block out the cold once the winter temperatures come around—these windows are old and let in a lot of the chill. The curtains seem super thick, so I’m hopeful they’ll help keep the heat in better.

Love These Curtains
My grandson wanted a more grown-up room. He is 13 years old. His favorite color is forest green. I purchased a comforter and found these blackout curtains in the same color. He was so happy when he came home from school; he said, “I don’t have a room that looks like a little kid’s room.” The blackout curtains are great he can’t sleep if there is the slightest bit of light. Need to order another pair for the guest room.

I wanted something that wasn’t sure but would substantially block out the sun. My room has wide windows facing west and it gets VERY hot in the late afternoon even what the temperature is 20 degrees. I’m renting and the room only has black roller blind which actually heats up the room even more! These were just perfect and the fabric is nice and soft. Note they don’t come wrinkle free but a quick wash & dry should easily solve that issue.
