Works by lighting specifically
I was very excited about this product for my granddaughter. I don’t like that the pieces only work if you have decent lighting in the room, I had to look up the puzzle online to find out why the pieces didn’t work most of the time. Each puzzle piece has a sensor as well as the board that only works when decent lighting is around. For example it may not work in the evening with just lamps in the home. This is very disappointing for a two-year-old. As a grandparent I was frustrated too.

Sound doesn’t work
Bought two. One for my daughter and one for a gift. Open ours and the sound wouldn’t work so I opened the second and had same issues no sound. Tried everythin to make a work. Such a disappointment.

We love Melissa and Doug and Mrs Rachel. My baby is obsessed with this puzzle. She just turned one and finds it’s easy to use. Very sturdy. Beautiful colors bright and engaging. Great size. Good sound. Fun!

Perfect Puzzle for Toddlers!
My 2-year-old daughter absolutely loves this puzzle! She quickly figured out how to put it together and has so much fun with the interactive sounds it makes. The puzzle is well-made—sturdy, high-quality, and easy to clean. A great toy for both learning and play!

Does not work
Very frustrating that the music doesn’t work even under direct light – even a dang flashlight. It plays for half of a second then stops. Works as a puzzle I guess but does not work as described or is just very flawed. I don’t know how much brighter I could get except if it was on the surface of the sun. Dumb.

Cute but possessed.
Its a cute toy I wish the little knobs where more chunky for an easier grab. Overall its a cute appearance but this did not work at all for the first day I gave up on trying to get it to work and figured ok its just a stand alone puzzle but it randomly started working at 8am then every single day since it turned on exactly between 7:45 and 8am it would randomly turn on I thought I was going crazy this toy might be a little possesed but for the price Im ok with it just turn it off at night.

A Fun Experience for Children
My 18 month old nephew loves this puzzle. He enjoys lifting the pieces and singing with the audio from the puzzle. Each pieces plays a different song from Ms. Rachel.It is actually encouraging him to speak and is helping to improve his speech.

Needs a well lit room or sunshine
So initially I thought mine was broken. I put new batteries in and it wasn’t playing. Thank goodness I came to the reviews here first before starting a return.You need light to get it to work. Make sure your room is well lit or gets lots of sun. The sensors are light sensitive. And turns out I keep my home darker than I thought!My almost 2 year old daughter loves it. And that is what is important.The sound is not the worst, I get what others are saying about sounding like a blown out speaker but it’s really not too big a deal. I think it’s a darling little puzzle.When others say it stopped working after 10 min, I wonder if the light quality changed in that time and that’s why it stopped.I do recommend this toy. Just be aware of how dark the room is that you’re playing with it in.Good luck everyone!

When I first received the item, I expected the sound to play once it was attached, but it actually works differently. The sound is triggered when the picture is removed, and any picture can activate the sound when waved over the engraved area. I really love the technology and the sound quality! However, I do feel it’s slightly overpriced, especially since the sound stopped working after it wasn’t used for a while.

Really great puzzle!!! I like that it uses AAAs instead of button batteries. It’s colourful and the sound is clear. My almost 3 year old loves this! It does need a light on or some sunlight but I have no issue with that – works great!! Very cute. Pricey but worth it 🙂
